A three-star prospect, Yancy-Harris originally committed to the USC, but he was given his release following the dismissal of Kevin O'Neal as head coach. After entertaining several offers, Yancy-Harris decided to stay home and become a Longhorn.
"It's official Just Committed 2 Be a UT LONGHORN !!!," said Yancy-Harris on his twitter account.
Yancy-Harris is viewed as the No 27 point guard in the country, and someone who can come in and run a team as well as score from the off guard spot.
With good size at 6-foot-2, Yancy-Harris has a lot of versatility and showcased his solid skill level at the NBPA Top 100 camp during June. From there he was solid all summer with Urban DFW on the AAU circuit.
This is the third commitment for Texas in the class of 2013. He joins Croaker and Isaiah Taylor. All three players are backcourt players and all three are three-star prospects.
