Auburn lands pledge

The Auburn Tigers were looking for some more depth on the low post, and they found that on Saturday.

The late signing period can always produce some sleepers, and the Auburn Tigers landed some depth on the post with Matthew Atewe.

At 6-foot-9 center is originally from Canada and has played his high school ball in the United States, currently at Fitchburg (Mass) Notre Dame Prep.

The final choices for Atewe were Auburn, Nebraska, Charlotte, and Nevada, but in the end it was the Tigers that won out.

Atewe is a solid athlete who runs the floor and has some idea of how to score on the post. Also he is a solid rebounder.

This is the fifth commitment for the Tigers in the class of 2013 as he joins Dion Wade, Tahj Shamsid-Deen, Benas Griciunas, and Ronald Delph.
