Cougars land Simmons

One of the better available point guards is now off the board as Jaaron Simmons made his commitment.

Three-star point guard Jaaron Simmons decided to play out his senior season before making a college decision. The Kettering (Ohio) Alter star had an excellent season which led to more college interest, and on Sunday it ended with a commitment.

Simmons decided this was a good weekend to make an official visit to Houston. While the Cougars typically don't recruit the state of Ohio, they decided to do so with Simmons, and now the 5-foot-11 point guard will suit up for the Cougars next season.

Following his official visit to Houston, Simmons issued his pledge and he is excited for the future of the program.

"I flet like they had a lot of great pieces returning with Danuel House, Tyshawn Thomas, and Joseph Young," said Simmons "I feel that it's a great situation for me as a point guard."

A score first point guard, Simmons likes to get to the rim and is also a very capable outside shooter.

Simmons is the lone commitment for Houston in the class of 2013.
