Hawgs keep Beard home

One of the top class of 2014 point guards came off the board on Monday evening when four-star Anton Beard announcing his decision.

Four-star point guard Anton Beard made a quick decision to pick the Missouri Tigers, but after thinking things over he re-opened his recruitment shortly thereafter. Now the Little Rock (Ark) North standout will stay home and play for the Arkansas Razorbacks.

"I just committed to the University of Arkansas," proclaimed Beard on his personal twitter account.

The 6-foot-1 Beard is one of the top scoring point guards in the class. While not an elite athlete, Beard knows how to come off of screens and has a good idea for how to play the game.

Last year Beard made a significant name for himself with Team Thad, and this summer is running on the EYBL circuit with Team Penny.

This is a big commitment for Mike Anderson and his staff as they now have the best player in-state locked up after doing so a year ago with Bobby Portis.
