Bibbs has major interest

Shooting guard Justin Bibbs is someone who had a good weekend in Pittsburgh, and his recruiting attention is beginning to pickup.

Three-star shooting guard Justin Bibbs suited up with Ohio Basketball Club at the Pitt Hoop Group Jam Fest and made quite an impression. The Dayton, Ohio native who is now at Montverde (Fla) Academy, Bibbs got limited playing time this year, but that didn't stop colleges from taking notice.

At 6-foot-4 with good athleticism, an ability to make shots, and a solid handle, Bibbs had a few big moments during the high school year, and has really emerged this spring.

"It was a good year," said Bibbs. "We came out No. 1, and I think I got better as a player."

He continued, "My game grew tremendously transferring to Montverde. I grew as a player and I think I am now more prepared for college as well."

Recruiting wise numerous schools are showing Bibbs a lot of attention.

"I am hearing the most from Miami, Cincinnati, Dayton, Xavier, Memphis, Virginia, Virginia Tech, VCU, and there are a couple of others."

Xavier has been on Bibbs for a while, and is located close to his hometown. Bibbs says the Musketeers have been very active recruiting him.

"It is good with them right now," said Bibbs. "Coach (Chris) Mack wants me bad, and they are going to the Big East so they want me there to be a guard for them in that conference."

One school that has really begun to pick things up with Bibbs is Virginia. The Cavaliers have been taking a close look at Bibbs this spring.

"I don't know a lot about Virginia," said Bibbs. "I just know they have a good coaching staff and it is a great school."

For now Bibbs doesn't have any kind of timetable for a decision, but he does have a decent idea of what he is looking for in a school.

"Just I am looking for a team that wins and helps players get to the next level," said Bibbs.
