Macura steps up at Exclusive Run

J.P. Macura, a 6-foot-5 guard out of Lakeville (Minn.) North, had a strong weekend at the adidas Exclusive Run.

There aren't many knock down shooters in high school basketball.

But J.P. Macura, a standout at Lakeville (Minn.) North, certainly proved he's worthy of that tag at the adidas Exclusive Run this past weekend.

"He shoots it," Minnesota D1 coach Jeremy Miller told "He has a confidence that is unshakable. If he misses a couple of shots he just keeps going for it. He's a tough kid."

Macura has a quick release, deep range and is capable of heating up in a hurry. To go with his ability to shoot, he's also a talented passer.

"He's got a good wiggle and a good feel," Miller said. "He's a really, really good passer. You can put him in the post. He's developing his game off the bounce too, which is nice. "

Macura told this past weekend he has offers from a host of schools including Dayton, North Dakota, North Dakota State, South Dakota, South Dakota State, St. Louis, UW-Milwaukee, Toledo and Vermont.

The 6-foot-5 guard also cited interest from Creighton, Iowa, Minnesota, Utah State and Butler.

Marcura, who averaged 25 points a game as a junior, said he's already taken unofficial visits to Utah State, North Dakota, North Dakota State and UW-Milwaukee.
