adidas Exclusive Run: Breakout Performers

Four prospects caught our eye as breakout performers at the adidas Exclusive Run this past weekend. Rawle Alkins, J.P. Macura, Kobi Simmons and Andre Chatfield all stepped up and improved their stock.

Size: 6-5/170 |
Quick Take: Locally, J.P. Macura, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard, had a reputation, but nationally he was a relative unknown. That changed after the Exclusive Run. Macura is a high-level shooter with deep range and a quick release. He pumped in threes all weekend long for Minnesota D1. His consistency stood out, as did his ability to shoot on the move and under pressure.

Recruiting: Dayton, North Dakota, North Dakota State, South Dakota, South Dakota State, St. Louis, UW-Milwaukee, Toledo, Creighton, Iowa, Minnesota, Utah State, Butler and Vermont.

Size: 6-4/200 |
Quick Take: 2016 shooting guard Rawle Alkins showed up in Duncanville (Tex.) playing with the New Rens bunch. Playing up in the 17's division, Alkins was their best scorer. He made plays going towards the rim, finished well through contact and even worked in catch and shoot jump shots. Alkins, a 6-foot-4 guard, was aggressive and active on both ends of the floor. Alkins is already gaining high major interest.

Recruiting: St. John's, Arizona

Size: 6-5/170 |
Quick Take: Horace Smith's Atlanta Celtics squad put Kobi Simmons on the ball and he was effective in that role. The 2016 prospect has good size and he's a tremendous playmaker. He's skilled, sees the floor and can pass. But he's also an accomplished scorer, who can make shots from three, mid-range and at the rim. Simmons is a high major combo guard.

Recruiting: Auburn, Georgia, Clemson, Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina

Size: 6-5/175 |
Quick Take: During the opening day of the adidas Exclusive Run, Andre Chatfield, a 6-foot-5 guard, broke out hitting a handful of jump shots, including a game winner. Chatfield, who won a state championship this past year and holds a 4.1 GPA, has the look of a possible late bloomer. He's equipped with long arms and a nice basketball frame. His jump shot looks good and he has some range. The 2014 shooting guard is one coaches will sure to be tracking throughout the spring and summer.

Recruiting: Mississippi State, Auburn, Harvard, Princeton, Brown, Stanford, Yale
