Norris is racking up offers

Team Thad small forward Riley Norris has been flooded with offers in recent weeks.

This spring has been a big one for Riley Norris. Norris is running with Team Thad on the AAU circuit, and the Albertville (Ala) native has played his way into a ton of new offers. The sharp shooting wing is one of the better prospects in the south, and college coaches are really taking notice.

Team Thad knew it needed a shooter to complement its highly athletic and energetic frontcourt and they found it with Norris who is enjoying his time on the AAU circuit.

"I was out the first week, but I came back for Biloxi and had a good weekend," said Norris. "I picked up five offers. We play on the biggest stage every tournament and it is great for exposure."

Norris added offers from Florida State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Tennessee after the weekend in Biloxi, and recently added Butler, Marquette, and Vanderbilt as well.

Those offers go along with the pre-existing ones from I already had Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Kansas State, and Virginia.

Alabama has been on Norris for a long time, and he says that having the Crimson Tide as an option is a big deal.

"I have a really good relationship with Alabama, especially Coach (Anthony) Grant," said Norris. "I grew up going to their games and watching them, and it means a lot to have an offer from the home state school."

Mississippi State has also been right there with Norris for a long time, and they continue to build a good relationship with him.

"I really like Mississippi State," said Norris. "Coach (Rick) Ray is a really god coach and they have been recruiting me really hard. I have a good relationship with that entire staff."

The recent offer from Tennessee was also a big one for Norris who liked what he saw when he visited the Vols in the fall.

"I know a little bit about them," said Martin of Tennessee. "I visited them last fall. Coach (Cuonzo) Martin likes my versatility and feels I can do different things and really fit into their system."

For now Norris has no visits planned, and is thinking he is going to go through July and just play and see who comes in, and then narrow down his list and make trips. That said, Norris does know what he is looking for in a school.

"I am looking for style of play, that is key," explained Norris. "Also I am big on academics and I want to go somewhere where they develop players and make you better."
