Xavier adds another in 2013

Xavier added their third commitment in the 2013 class with a European forward.

During the regular season Xavier Head Coach Chris Mack made a trip to Greece to check out forward Aleksander Vezenkov. That trip has proved to be a fruitful one as the Musketeers will have Vezenkov's services next season as the Bulgarian native issued a commitment to the Big East program.

A year ago as a 17 year old playing up on the Bulgarian national team at the FIBA Under 18 Championships Vezenkov opened up some eyes with his play. At 6-foot-8 and 200 pounds, the skinny forward put up 16.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game while shooting 47 percent overall including 39 percent from three point range.

This came on the heels of Vezenkov leading the FIBA Under 16 Championships in 2011 with 27.1 points per game and also adding 9.9 rebounds while playing against his age appropriate competition.

Vezenkov who is a lefty, is said to be a skilled forward who likes to play from the mid-range and out. He is a very good shooter who can really pass the ball and has a good feel for the game.

By making his commitment, Vezenkov becomes the third member of Xavier's 2013 recruiting class joining four-star point guard Brandon Randolph and three-star small forward Kamall Richards.
