Dorsey Gets Local Offer

Tyler Dorsey, a 2015 shooting guard out of Southern California, recently picked up a scholarship offer from a Pac-12 program....

Tyler Dorsey, 6-4 SO SG Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco, is a talented scorer and one of the top prospects in the west for 2015.

I spoke with Dorsey recently and he told me he just received an offer from a local school.

"Coach Alford at UCLA spoke with my Dad and offered," said Dorsey. "He said they want to make me their #1 recruit in 2015."

I asked Dorsey for his thoughts on the offer.

"I think it's great," said Dorsey. "I like the new staff and I have a high interest in staying home and looking at UCLA."

I asked Dorsey if he has any plans for unofficial visits.

"In the future I will go to USC and UCLA to talk with the new staffs," said Dorsey. "In June I'll be going to Arizona State for an unofficial."

When asked about other programs that have been recruiting him, Dorsey replied, "Arizona has been recruiting me hard, Michigan came through not too long ago and I talked to the USC coach a few days ago."

Dorsey talked a little about the factors that will influence his decision.

"The tempo is important, I want to play at a fast pace," said Dorsey. "Early playing time is also a big thing. I want to be able to come in and play right away at point guard. The location doesn't really matter too much right now."

Dorsey said he doesn't see himself making an early decision.

"I'll probably wait until my senior year," said Dorsey.
