Hemsley Picks Up Offers

Jeremy Hemsley doesn't have a big rep yet nationally, but a few schools have already offered the talented sophomore guard...

Jeremy Hemsley, 6-3 SO SG La Verne (Calif.) Damien, is an explosive athlete with the ability to score from multiple spots on the court. Hemsley is at his best when he's slashing to the basket, but he's a capable three-point shooter as well. With continued development, he has a chance to be one of the elite prospects in the West Coast class of 2015.

I spoke with Hemsley recently and he gave me a list of schools that have been in contact with him.

"UNLV, Arizona, UCLA, USC, Gonzaga, UC Irvine, New Mexico and Boston College are some of them," said Hemsley.

When asked which schools have offered, Hemsley replied, "UNLV, Irvine, New Mexico and Boston College."

I asked Hemsley if has a feel for which schools have recruited him the hardest to date.

"UNLV, Gonzaga, UCLA and Boston College," said Hemsley.

Hemsley talked a little about the factors he will consider when making his decision.

"I'm waiting to see what team makes me feel at home," said Hemsley. "I want to go to a team where I know I can play and make everyone better. The location doesn't really matter, but early playing time is a part of it."

I asked Hemsley if he has any schools in mind for visits.

"I'd like to visit UNLV and UCLA," said Hemsley.

Hemsley said he doesn't see himself making an early decision.

"I'll probably wait until my senior year," said Hemsley.

Hemsley said he has a 3.3 GPA.
