Tillman has two visits in mind

Detroit native Justin Tillman is having a very productive spring and wants to check out a pair of campuses.

Power forward Justin Tillman is having a productive summer for the REACH Legends on the AAU circuit. The Detroit (Mich) Pershing standout has shown his athleticism and rebounding prowess all spring long, and now he is planning on making a pair of visits.

At about 6-foot-7 with long arms and a non-stop motor, Tillman is someone who simply has a nose for the basketball as it comes off the rim and can be effective on the defensive end while scoring some. Now Tillman is hoping to expand his game.

"I think I have played pretty good," said Tillman. "I have been working on facing up and scoring that way."

Recruiting wise a handful of schools are showing him interest, and he hopes to get an up close view of two of them.

"Michigan, Xavier, Iowa, Iowa State, and Purdue are the schools I am hearing from the most," said Tillman. "I am hoping to get down to Michigan and Xavier."

The in-state Wolverines are in evaluation mode on Tillman, and he says he likes the way that Michigan plays.

"I like their playing style and that they get their big man involved," said Tillman. "Also it is close to home which is nice."

When it comes to Xavier, it is his relationship with the coaching staff that stands out.

"The coaches are real cool and they like to play at a fast tempo which fits me well," Tillman explained.

At this point Tillman has no timetable for when he plans to make a college decision, and is looking to learn more about each school on his list while also improving his game and becoming more of a threat both inside and from the perimeter.
