Matthews looks to visit three

Charles Matthews has plenty of early high major interest. A number of schools are involved and he's looking to visit a trio in the near future.

Charles Matthews hasn't developed a list of favorites, but he's certainly collected a number of high major scholarship offers.

To date, Matthews, a 6-foot-4 guard out of Chicago (Ill.) St. Rita, claims offers from Arizona, Illinois, DePaul, SMU, Providence, Marquette, Wisconsin and Kansas.

"I don't have any favorites as of now," Matthews told "I'm still waiting to make my decision until my senior year."

Matthews took a visit to Illinois last year and is planning to visit a trio of schools in the near future.

"I had one to Illinois, but that was last summer," Matthews explained. "It was great. Coach Groce really welcomed me in a lot. I met his coaching staff and had a real good time there."

"I plan on getting to Michigan State and Wisconsin this month," he added. "Then I want to get down to Arizona as well, but I'm not sure if I'll get down there."

Matthews said Michigan State made him a priority recently.

"For a school that hasn't offered me, they might be the one coming at me the hardest right now," Matthews said. "They are really on me a lot. Coach [Dane] Fife and coach [Tom] Izzo, I speak to them a lot."

According to Matthews, he has strong relationships at both Wisconsin and Arizona.

"It's a good program," he said about Wisconsin. "Coach Lamont [Paris] does a really good job recruiting me there."

"Coach Book [Richardson], I have a real good relationship with him and coach [Sean] Miller," he added about Arizona.

Matthews is currently regarded as a five-star prospect in the 2015 class.
