Delaney commits to Villanova

Tim Delaney made an early college decision. He committed to Villanova Wednesday afternoon.

Tim Delaney's college choice is in.

Delaney, a 6-foot-8, 190-pound power forward out of Pitman (N.J.) committed to Villanova, according to WE R1 coach Matt Pauls.

"Villanova gives him the opportunity to play basketball at a high level in the new Big East," Pauls said.

"He really likes the academic environment and he connected with coach [Jay] Wright and the coaching staff and players," he added. "Tim also wanted to be close to his family."

Delaney also considered early interest from Indiana, Butler, Virginia, Notre Dame, Richmond and Florida.

Delaney is Villanova's first pledge in the 2015 class.
