Isaiah Bailey, 6-5 SR SF Compton (Calif.) High, is one of the more athletic prospects in the west for 2014. Bailey has a prototype wing body, with an adequate jump shot and decent ball skills overall. Consistent focus and intensity are two areas where he could improve, but he possesses a high upside due to his physical attributes.

I spoke with Bailey recently and asked about the schools that are recruiting him.

"Arizona State, Gonzaga, Oregon State, USC, San Diego State, Fresno State, a little bit from Pepperdine and UNLV," said Bailey.

Bailey said several schools have extended scholarship offers.

"Oregon State, San Diego State, USC and Fresno State have offered," said Bailey.

Bailey said he's only taken one unofficial visit so far.

"I went to USC a few months back with the old staff," said Bailey. "And I have been talking to the new assistants, Jason Hart and Tony Bland. It's a really nice campus and I like the atmosphere – everybody feels together there. It seems like it's a school that would fit me. Plus, I'm a home person, so I could stay close to home."

When asked if he has any plans for future trips, Bailey replied, "No, I'm going to get past the July period and then I'll start making visits."

I asked Bailey about the factors that will influence his choice.

"I want to see things like graduation rates because basketball doesn't last forever," said Bailey. "As far as early playing time, I think I'd like to go someplace where maybe I can play right away."

Bailey said he doesn't anticipate making an early decision.

"I'll probably play through my senior year, so I can just play free and then decide in spring," said Bailey.
