In late July at the adidas Big Time, WA SG Brandon Roy played in four of six games with Seattle Yes Red. He couldn't play in all of his team's games because he suffered a knee injury. However, the four times he played he was pretty good.
Last week, Roy had arthroscopic knee surgery to repair the damage and he's says he's doing just fine. "I got the surgery done Thursday so it's in the healing process," Roy said.
He's currently looking at Arizona, Boston College, Washington, Gonzaga and Oregon. He's been offered by each and intends on officially visiting a few schools, probably two of them. There is a chance he'll take some unofficial visits to Washington, Gonzaga and Oregon. Arizona will definitely receive an official visit from him.
Roy said some schools seem to have dropped off of him since the summer. For instance, Kansas, UConn and UCLA each contacted him last month, but he hasn't heard from any of them since the initial call. He's setting up his in-home trips right now, but can't take an official visit just yet because school hasn't started and he's yet to take the SAT.
All in all, despite the knee injury that forced him to miss Nike Camp, it was a very productive summer for this talented scorer. "I was pretty happy. After the knee injury I was able to play well in Vegas. I was unhappy about the Nike Camp situation."
Even though he missed Nike Camp, he's strung together some impressive performances on the AAU circuit. He was all-tournament at the May Tournament of Champions and put up some impressive numbers when he played in Vegas.
