A native of the state of Mississippi, Hymon grew up near Ole Miss, and that comfort along with the coaching staff led to his commitment.
"I visited them and I built a good relationship with all of the coaches and I just felt they fit my style of play," said Hymon of Ole Miss.
Hymon feels that he will bring a high energy style of play to the Rebels frontcourt.
"I am going to bring intensity, heart, and motor," said Hymon. "I will be someone who is willing to work hard every day in practice and on the court. I feel like it is a great fit for me and for them."
While many prospects like to play out July and see the offers they will get, Hymon says he knew this was the right time for him to pull the trigger and commit.
"Oh man it is a big relief," said Hymon of the decision. "I feel like I took my time and I didn't rush things. I feel like this is the right timing. I feel comfortable with the decision and I know I need to continue to work hard."
Hymon is a high three-star power forward who is the first commit for the Rebels in the class of 2014.
