Richardson Has An SEC Offer

Here's a guy who wasn't highly visible on the summer scene, though he's a pretty good player. Hinds (MS) High's Sam Richardson is receiving interest from a number of schools but he's yet to make a decision.

Mississippi State Has Already Offered

Sam Richardson, a 6-3/185 shooting guard from Hinds, Miss., played this spring and summer with the Southeast Raptors. He's a scorer with a good medium-range game and can step out and make 3s.

Presently, he's receiving interest from Mississippi State, Auburn, LSU and Cincinnati. He says that Mississippi State has already offered him a scholarship.

He's all set to visit Mississippi State the weekend of Sept. 3 when the Bulldogs kick off their football season against Memphis. He's taken the ACT so he can begin the visitation process, but he has to pump up his score.

Richardson wants to make sure he fits in well enough at his future home so that he can gain some early minutes. "Wherever I can go and play that's the main thing. That's about it," Richardson said.
