Bulldogs add pledge

Brandon Miller is now on the board as a head coach as he received his first verbal commitment on Friday night.

Well the answer to one trivia question is now known. The first commitment for Brandon Miller as the Head Coach of the Butler Bulldogs is in. Saint John (Ind) Lake Central center Tyler Wideman has come off the board and picked the Bulldogs.

A 6-foot-6 interior presence, Wideman is one of the more skilled post prosepcts in the Midwest. Only days after getting his offer from the Bulldogs, Wideman pulled the trigger and selected the Big East school according to Meanstreets AAU coach Emmanuel "Peedi" Christmas.

This is the first commitment for Miller as the head coach and the first pledge for the Bulldogs in the 2014 class overall.

Wideman will bring a level of toughness and someone who the Bulldogs can play through on the post due to his nice touch and ability to really pass the basketball. Also Wideman is a solid position rebounder, and someone who will give effort and energy on every single possession.

Along with Butler, schools like Bradley, Ball State, and Indiana State had offered. Also Purdue, Xavier, Indiana, Michigan, and Michigan State had shown varying degrees of interest over the past couple of years.
