Bibbs looking to finish July strong

Four-star wing Justin Bibbs has put together a solid spring and summer and he is hoping to finish strong with coaches watching his every move.

As the main attraction on the Ohio Basketball Club's 17-and under team, Justin Bibbs is someone who numerous college coaches are getting a chance to see. The Dayton, Ohio native who attends Montverde (Fla) Academy is looking for a strong finish to his July.

"I am just trying to help my team win as much as we can and get better," said Bibbs. "Those are my only real goals."

Bibbs hasn't narrowed down his list or named any favorites, but he does note that several schools said they will be watching closely.

"Xavier, Virginia Tech, Virginia, VCU, Rhode Island, and SMU said they would be watching me," said Bibbs.

Xavier is a school only about 45 minutes from his family's home, and he says he has built a good relationship with the staff.

"It is a real nice relationship," said Bibbs. "I love the campus and the whole atmosphere. Me and Coach (Chris) Mack have a real good relationship. He wants me to know that I could play freely there and I could make a big impact."

Virginia Tech has also been very active in recruiting Bibbs, and continues to show him significant interest.

"Coach (James) Johnson has been looking at me a lot," Bibbs explained. "We have talked a lot on the phone and his whole staff seems like good guys."

Also Bibbs has been hearing from Virginia, and the Cavaliers remain very interested in the four-star wing.

"I don't know a ton about Virginia," said Bibbs. "I just know they are in the ACC, and they said they would be watching me. Also I know it is a good academic school."

For now Bibbs is just focused on playing out July, but once AAU season is over it might not be too long before he makes his college decision.

"I have no idea what is next," explained Bibbs. "I will probably take some visits in August, and then commit after that."

Bibbs and his Ohio Basketball Club team will compete at the adidas Super 64 in Las Vegas this week.
