It has been a good run for Team Thad the past two years. The Memphis based outlet has been one of the premier teams on the circuit, and now they are hoping to close out in style.
"I feel I played pretty well," said Black. "It has been fun. This is our last tournament. We haven't won one this year, so we are just trying to come down here and win this one."
In his final game in front of the coaches a large contingent was front and center at 8:00 a.m. to watch.
"It felt good to look and see who was around and who had the most interest," said Black. "The head coaches were there, and I got to see who really wants me."
The next step for Black will be to make some visits, and up first will be the Florida Gators.
"I visit Florida on August 1," said Black. "I am going on an unofficial to see the campus to see how it looks, see the facilities, and talk to the coaches and everything."
He continued, "I'm going to probably visit Memphis when we get back, and then probably also Illinois. We start school on August 5, so I will probably visit Memphis that weekend."
Memphis wasn't a major factor for Black for a while, but now they have really picked things up.
"Coach (Robert) Kirby got there, and me and him had a close relationship," said Black. "He has been recruiting me hard, and I recently started talking to Coach (Josh) Pastner a lot and I like Memphis. It would be a good thing to stay at home."
Illinois has been one of the schools recruiting Black the hardest, and he says he has built a good relationship with the coaching staff.
"They are still very high on my list," said Black. "I love Coach (John) Groce and Coach (Jamall) Walker, and I have a tight relationship with them. I just want to take my visit and see what it is like."
For now Black is in no hurry to make his decision, and says he will take his time going through the process.
"I'm going to take my five visits, then after that I will take my time and see where I want to go," said Black.
