Kuzma works on visit dates

A number of prospects broke out at the Fab 48 last week, among them were 6-foot-8 combo forward Kyle Kuzma.

Kyle Kuzma has been preparing for the evaluation periods all spring.

"I think I played pretty well out there," Kuzma, who played with RISE in the Fab 48, said. "I was working hard in May and June just to be ready for July in Vegas. There was a lot of competition out there."

A 6-foot-8 combo forward, Kuzma moves fluidly, has good ball skills and can play both inside and out. Kuzma also showed an ability to make jump shots off the catch to three and off the bounce from mid-range.

"I think one of the biggest things I have is my feel for the game and just my court vision," Kuzma told Scout.com. "I know where my teammates are going to be. I can step out and shoot and post up small defenders. I'm pretty versatile."

Kuzma's versatility has parlayed into plenty of college interest. Prior to the final evaluation period, Kuzma held offers from Penn State, Seton Hall, Auburn, Utah, Texas A&M and Rhode Island. West Virginia, Minnesota and Tennessee also showed interest.

"It's picked up a little bit," he said of his recruitment following the final evaluation period. "I've picked up a few offers from UConn, Missouri and Arizona State the past few days. I'm pretty excited about that."

Kuzma, a native of Michigan, said he's already taken three unofficial visits.

I've taken visits to Penn State, West Virginia and Villanova so far,"

"I haven't made up 100-percent dates yet, but I know for sure I'm going to Utah on September 13th and right now I'm planning something for Missouri in September also," Kuzma added.

The next step for Kuzma, who will close out of his high school career at Philadelphia (Pa.) Rise Academy, is to cut his list.

"I'm hoping to narrow my list down by the end of August and hopefully I'll take a few officials in September and hopefully commit by October," Kuzma said.
