"He just basically wants to take his time and look at some other options," Scott Snider, Quentin's dad, told Scout.com.
"I still want Louisville to recruit him," he added. "But I think he missed the whole recruiting process and they have a lot of guards and I think he needs to have a plan B and that's basically what this is about."
Snider committed to Louisville during his sophomore season.
"The reason we did it now is we are seeing other schools around here that Q might be interested in offering other point guards," the elder Snider added.
"We haven't talked to any schools since he committed," he added.
Snider is currently ranked No. 29 overall in the 2014 class.
