2015 wing Ryan enjoying process

Matt Ryan, a 2015 recruit out of New Rochelle (N.Y.) Iona Preparatory, has a host of schools trailing him and he's looking to visit two of them in the fall.

2015 wing prospect Matt Ryan built quite the reputation as a shooter this spring and summer.

Playing in the adidas Super 64 last week with the New Heights 16's, Ryan, a 6-foot-6, 180-pounder, impressed with his shot. He showed deep range and has a fairly quick release. Because of that, Ryan's starting to build quite a list of interested schools.

Ryan said he has over 20 offers. Among the schools that have offered are Notre Dame, Boston College, Boston, Davidson, Creighton, Fordham, West Virginia and Clemson. St. John's, Pittsburgh, Vanderbilt, Minnesota and Butler are also interested.

"The whole recruiting process is awesome," Ryan said. "I love it. I love receiving phone calls and messages and talking to a lot of high Division 1 coaches. I'm just loving it and so are my parents."

Although Ryan grew up following Notre Dame football, he said he doesn't have an early leader.

"I grew up a Notre Dame football fan," Ryan said. "I've been watching college basketball throughout the whole country. I'm not leaning one way for picking a school."

Ryan is planning to take some visits this fall. His first one will be to Clemson on August 31st.

"I think I have a visit set up for Clemson at the end of August," he said. "I'm going to go see a football game. Then I'm going to go see Notre Dame in the fall."
