Austin volunteers to run in Orange

Larry Austin committed to Tennessee on Thursday afternoon over Iowa, Illinois, Oklahoma State, DePaul and others.

August has arrived, and that means it's time for a rash of commitments. Larry Austin didn't need much time back from the summer trail to make his college choice, announcing today for the Volunteers.

Austin performed solidly at June's NBPA Top 100 Camp in Charlottesville, Va., proving that he can hold his own versus the national elite. He's an above-average athlete but is a fine jump shooter and intelligently runs the show.

For the Volunteers, he's the third pledge of the 2014 recruiting cycle. Cuonzo Martin and staff have covered their bases, getting three commitments at three different positions, with Phil Cofer and Jordan Cornish also in the fold.
