Norris commits to Alabama

Alabama picked up their second verbal pledge in as many weeks, as Riley Norris committed to the Crimson Tide just two days after an unofficial visit.

Riley Norris is headed to Alabama.

Norris, a four-star recruit by, committed to Alabama and head coach Anthony Grant over strong interest from UAB, Vanderbilt, Auburn, Mississippi State and a host of other schools.

Last week Alabama pulled their scholarship offer, but following an unofficial visit this weekend, Alabama opted to keep their offer on the table. Just two days later, Norris accepted it.

"I picked Alabama because I know I fit in their system really well," Norris said. "And also they have a great coaching staff in which will help me develop not only as a player but as a person."

Norris averaged 23 points and 12 rebounds for Albertville (Ala.) High during his junior season. The 6-foot-7 combo forward is known for his ability to shoot. He has good range on his shot, but is also skilled and athletic enough to make plays at the rim.

Norris is currently regarded as a four-star recruit. He is ranked No. 99 overall and as the No. 23 small forward in the 2014 class.

Alabama now holds commitments from a pair of in-state recruits in the 2014 class. Top 100 guard Justin Coleman committed to Grant and company last week.
