Interest coming for Moungoro

A big July has led to increased recruiting interest for Boubacar Moungoro.

One player who did a lot to help his stock during the month of July was small forward Boubacar Moungoro. The athletic small forward led Each 1 Teach 1 to a Peach Jam title and then also was excellent at the Nike Global Games. That led to high majors really picking up the interest.

"I think I played well," said Moungoro. "I improved my defense and rebounding, and that was something I worked hard on."

One of the highlights for Moungoro was the Global Games where he got to lead Team Africa to a solid showing.

"It was a good experience," he explained. "I played for Team Africa. We came strong and I liked representing Africa."

While the recruiting process started off somewhat slow for him, recently things have picked up in a big way and Moungoro is getting some significant high-major attention.

"Miami, LSU, Florida State, and Gonzaga are the schools I have been hearing from the most," he explained.

For Moungoro who isn't as familiar with all of the schools due to not growing up in this country, the official visits will be huge. At the moment he doesn't have anything set up visit wise, but he does plan to make several trips.

On those trips he isn't necessarily looking for anything that is specific, he is just looking for the right place for him.

"I want to go to a school with a good education and somewhere that is a good situation for me with basketball and school," said Moungoro.

Currently Moungoro is a three-star prospect in the ratings.
