Abu set to take visits

Abdul Malik Abu is down to four schools and in the process of mapping out his visit plan. Where is headed first?

Abdul Malik Abu is closing in on a college choice.

On Wednesday, Abu, a 6-foot-8, 235-pound power forward, narrowed his list down to Connecticut, Florida, North Carolina State and Providence.

Abu's current plan is to visit all four schools involved. He'll start with Providence on Saturday with his AAU teammate Jared Terrell.

"We are going to go Providence on Saturday," Expressions Elite coach Ty Boswell told Scout.com. "We are going to go to UConn on Wednesday for an unofficial."

"Then we are going to go to N.C. State next Sunday and the same thing with Florida," Boswell added. "We're just waiting for his parents to buy the tickets. We are going to those two definitely."

Abu and Terrell are planning to announce their college choices together.

"They are honestly are going to try and have a press conference together before [Abu] goes back to school the first week of September," Boswell said. "They want to do it together."

"They want to get it over with before school starts," he added.

Abu, a four-star recruit, is ranked No. 51 overall in the 2014 class.
