Over a dozen offers for Blakeney

Antonio Blakeney claims over a dozen scholarship offers. The talented 2015 recruit is also planning to visit a SEC school in the near future.

As the spring and summer wore on, Antonio Blakeney began picking up more and more college interest. Now in mid-August, the 6-foot-4 guard out of Sarasota (Fla.) Cardinal Mooney, has over a dozen high major scholarship offers.

According to Blakeney he holds offers from Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Kansas State, Louisville, Miami, Missouri, Notre Dame, South Florida, UCF, Vanderbilt, Xavier, Arkansas and South Carolina.

Florida has been recruiting Blakeney the hardest and will have him on campus on August 31st for an unofficial visit. It's the only trip Blakeney currently has scheduled.

"They've been involved the longest actually and they are coming at me the hardest," Blakeney said. "That's the thing they have come at me the hardest so far, but I'm still open to every school. Florida State has come at me pretty hard too."

"It's an in state school that is a big, big program," he added about the Gators. "They have a good name. If I went there I know I'd be able to play good basketball under some good coaches."

Blakeney said FSU's conference affiliation is one of the things he likes about the Seminoles.

"The conference you are in you'd be playing against the best," he said. "It's pretty much the best conference. They have real good coaches. They produce pros and stuff like that."

Blakeney received a phone call from another ACC school recently. North Carolina called to begin the recruiting process with him.

"I'm really interested in Carolina," he said. "Carolina is a real good school. They are always making the tournament and stuff like that. That's a good place to be."

"They said they are going to offer," Blakeney said. "They are going to come watch me in September at my high school."

A 2015 recruit, Blakeney is currently regarded as a four-star prospect and ranks No. 74 overall.
