The Huntington (W.V.) Prep senior will head home to Colorado on Friday and will announce on Saturday.
"I'll probably do it on the 24th," Perkins told Scout.com.
Perkins broke down his three finalists and explained what he likes about each of them.
Gonzaga -- "They really showed that I'm their number one target," Perkins said. "They haven't offered any other point guards and aren't going to until I make my decision. They showed me I'm who they really want. Their coaching staff developed a strong relationship with my parents."
UCLA -- "I went to New Mexico because of coach [Steve] Alford. That's why New Mexico was in the mix. Now that he's at UCLA, I like them. He has a great personality. I'm a goofy guy and so is he, so its fun to be around him."
Minnesota -- "Their new coach put on the fullcourt press. Coach [Richard] Pitino came to my games and showed me that I'm their guy. He was one of the head coaches that showed up and showed me that they really want me."
Just a few days from the announcement, does Perkins know who he's going to pick?
"I'm pretty close to it," he said. "It's a tough decision for me. It's a big step for my future."
Perkins, who stands 6-foot-2, ranks No. 25 overall in the 2014 player rankings.
