Updated 2015 Top 100

Scoring sensation Malik Newman jumped to the top spot in the 2015 class after a strong July. Stephen Zimmerman, Diamond Stone, Ivan Rabb and Skal Labissiere round out the updated top five.


Scout.com's updated 2015 top 100 has a new No. 1 prospect.

Malik Newman, a 6-foot-3 guard out of Mississippi, moved from No. 2 up to No. 1 overall after a strong summer.

Newman's strength lies in his ability to put up points. Newman creates space well with his dribble, is able to adjusts shots well at the rim, has a developed mid-range game and has deep range on his jump shot.

A skilled guard, Newman is versatile and is certainly capable of spending time on the ball. He has good vision and is a talented passer as well.

Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman big man Stephen Zimmerman finished No. 2 in the updated top 100.

The southpaw impacts the game on both ends of the floor. Offensively he's capable of scoring with his back to the basket or by facing up and hitting jump shots to 18-feet. On defense he's an enforcer in the paint and doesn't make it easy for the opposition.

Wisconsin native Diamond Stone checks in at No. 3.

Stone, who moved up from No. 6, proved to be in great shape in July. He impressed with his ability to score on the block, but also showed he has mid-range jumpers in his arsenal. Stone is also a good rebounder and is defends his position well.

Ivan Rabb and Skal Labissiere round out the updated 2015 top 5.

Rabb is a productive, 6-foot-9 big man that protects the rim, runs the floor well and rebounds his area. Labissiere, who stands 6-foot-11, is a mobile center with a unique ability to score from both inside and out.

Cheick Diallo, Tyler Dorsey, Ben Simmons, Carlton Bragg and Jaylen Brown finish in the top 10 in the new rankings. Bragg and Brown are making their first appearances in Scout.com's top 10.

The new list includes 19 five-star prospects. To go with the top 10, Elijah Thomas, Charles Matthews, Thomas Bryant, Derrick Jones, Luke Kennard, Mickey Mitchell, Malachi Richardson, Monatque Gill-Caesar and Chase Jeter are all rated as five-stars.

Only seven top 100 prospects are currently committed. Mickey Mitchell, an Ohio State commit, is the highest rated at No. 16 overall. Nick Noskowiak (Marquette), Austin Grandstaff (Oklahoma State), Levi Cook (West Virginia), A.J. Harris (Ohio State), Tim Delaney (Villanova) and Kevarius Hayes (Florida) are the other committed prospects.
