1. Indiana and Isaiah Whitehead have received ample linkage lately, but Whitehead will travel to Seton Hall unofficially on Saturday. The Pirates are flying (sailing?) high after recently nabbing big-time rebounder and warrior Angel Delgado, and now they've established significant national momentum.
Whether they can beat out programs the caliber of Indiana remains unknown, of course, but many Pirate eyes will be focused intently on Whitehead this weekend.
2. Another player connected to the Hoosiers at an early juncture, sophomore Tyus Battle, will make some unofficial tours this fall. He already has traveled to Bloomington and, according to AllHoosiers.com, will make a stop at Michigan this Saturday followed by Ohio State on September 21.
While on the surface it may seem odd that a New Jersey prospect would devote so much of his time to Big Ten programs, he also has visited UConn and Miami with additional planned trips this season to Villanova and Syracuse. And, of course, it's very, very early.
3. Many blue-chip seniors have committed and almost all others are getting closer, but the Chicago Sun-Times detailed a story about Paul White and his expanding recruitment. White had cut his list to five and was scheduled to visit Arizona this weekend, but according to the paper he'll visit Miami (which had been cut) on Thursday instead.
White broke his arm in early July and thus missed out on what would have been a great deal of exposure. His ambitious recruiting overhaul underscores the fact that he remains in rehabilitation mode and that he can afford to direct his attention on his eventual 2014-15 destination.
