Macura to Big East

After an intense recruitment J.P. Macura has made his decision in will play his college basketball in the Big East.

One of the players who saw his stock rise the most during the spring was Lakeville (Minn) wing J.P. Macura. The 6-foot-5 Macura showed an ability to really shoot the ball, but he did more than just that. Macura is also solid off the dribble, and after a trio of official visits Macura decided to make his college choice.

After his breakout performance during the spring high-major schools began really coming in after Macura. For a little while it looked like Butler would land the talented four-star wing, but after the departure of Brad Stevens the Bulldogs fell out of the mix.

In the end Macura made official visits to Xavier and Creighton as well as unofficial trips to Minnesota and Purdue. However at the end of the day Macura felt most comfortable with the Musketeers and picked the school on Monday night.

Just made the best decision of my life," said Macura. "Officially committed to Xavier."

This is the second commitment for Xavier in the class of 2014. Macura joins three-star combo guard Edmond Sumner who selected the school in the spring. Now Xavier will look to add more help in the frontcourt with their remaining two scholarships.
