Around the Nation: 9/11

In this space we discuss the latest behind the scenes changes to the ScoutHoops.com database, based on stories we publish on the national site as well as stories from network team sites, social media rumblings and other internet tidbits.

1. Myles Turner has set his official visit to Ohio State. The elite senior center will travel to Columbus the weekend of October 19. The Buckeyes are one of eight contenders remaining for his services — back in July, he sported a list of over 20 programs — and are ecstatic to be one of the chosen few to receive an official.

Two weeks prior, Turner will travel to Kansas to meet with Bill Self and the Jayhawks.

2. Since colleague Evan Daniels updated Robert Johnson's situation earlier this week, the sharpshooting guard has set an announcement date for September 20. Johnson will visit Florida State officially this weekend, recently having toured Indiana, Virginia and North Carolina.

The fact that Johnson set his announcement date prior to visiting FSU may not bode well for the Seminoles, but we'll find out shortly and stranger things have happened in recruiting.
