Tyler Ulis, a four-star point guard, picked Kentucky over Iowa and Michigan State during a press conference at his school Friday evening.
John Calipari landed his future point guard.
Tyler Ulis, a standout at Chicago Heights (Ill.) Marian Catholic, pledged to Kentucky at his high school Friday evening.
"Because Kentucky is a top basketball program in college basketball right now," Ulis said at the event. "It will help me working hard everyday and playing with the top competition. Coach Cal does a good job developing players."
Ulis selected Kentucky over Iowa and Michigan State. Both schools had Ulis on campus for official visits within the last three weeks. Ulis visited Kentucky this past weekend for their Alumni game.
The 2014 point guard ranks No. 6 at the point guard position and No. 29 overall. At 5-foot-8, Ulis is a tough, hardnosed guard with good speed. He's also a good decision maker with the ball and good long-range shooter.
Kentucky now has a pair of recruits in their 2014 recruiting class. Ulis, a four-star prospect, joins Scout.com's No. 10 overall prospect – Karl Towns – to make up their current recruiting class.
