1. Stanley Johnson has cut his list of suitors to a quintet. Those remaining include Arizona, USC, Kentucky, Florida and Oregon. Kansas and UCLA — neither of which had appeared to be a frontrunner — no longer are under consideration. Johnson still has several potential visits remaining and may wait until spring to make his decision.
According to BearTerritory.net, Welsh will visit UCLA next weekend and follow that with a trip to Colorado two weeks later. Unlike Johnson and other West Coasters who don't appear to be as provincial, Welsh's recruitment has taken on a decided western tint.
The Pac-12 is attempting to mount a comeback, and getting a talented, multi-year big man would be huge for both the school that lands him and the conference as a whole.
