Robinson commits to Texas A&M

Alex Robinson didn't need much time following his official visit to Texas A&M to pull the trigger for the Aggies. He committed to Billy Kennedy on Tuesday.

Alex Robinson, of Arlington (Tex.) Mansfield Timberview, wasn't expecting to commit to a school this week. But that changed on Tuesday, as he committed to Texas A&M following his official visit this past weekend.

"I didn't think I'd like it this much," Robinson explained just minutes after giving a verbal commitment to Billy Kennedy.

"The campus was nice," Robinson said. "It was a nice campus. Then I went out with the players. They were all pretty good the whole day. It was just fun to be around them. Then they showed us where they stayed. I thought it was nice."

Robinson also cited a strong relationship with Kennedy as one of the reasons he opted for the Aggies.

"He's really cool," Robinson told ‘He's pretty straightforward. He's pretty funny. I like his family too. The whole team all bonded with his family. It's a pretty cool deal."

Robinson, who also considered Vanderbilt, Pittsburgh, Memphis and others, developed a good relationship with the rest of the staff, including Texas A&M's strength and conditioning coach

"I had a good relationship with all of the coaches," he said. "I like the campus and the way that the A&M kids live. I really liked their strength coach. He was pretty cool. All of the other schools I went to you get big and stronger, but the A&M coach has a basketball background."

"They had a long time to develop a relationship," Robinson added. "It was pretty cool. I had a good relationship with the players. I got to play with them. They were all pretty cool and I had a great time with them."

Robinson, a four-star point guard, moved up to the No. 10 point guard the No. 41 overall prospect in the 2014 class after a strong summer playing with the Texas Titans.
