Richmond snags Minnesota product

The Richmond Spiders snagged a good looking pledge out of the Great Lakes State.

Over the past few years Richmond has shown the willingness to recruit all over the country. They did it again in 2014 on Wednesday night when they landed New Prague (Minn) power forward Paul Friendshuh.

At 6-foot-8 and 200 pounds, Friendshuh is a stretch power forward who can shoot the ball and is also capable of using his skill to get to the rim using the bounce. For Friendshuh he feels that Richmond was the perfect fit.

"Richmond was everything I wanted," said Friendshuh. "They play in the Atlantic 10, and you can't go wrong with A-10 and also Richmond is a great academic school."

He continued, "I went down there on a visit and they have great team chemistry and the coaching staff is great. I felt like it was the right fit."

One thing that especially stood out to Friendshuh was the Spiders style of play.

"I think their style is everything that fits me," he explained. "Their big guys handle the ball and not just post up, they shoot threes and play on the perimeter so I see myself fitting right in."

Richmond continues to try to add to a talented young roster, and Friendshuh is a good piece to the puzzle.
