Proximity to home has been a factor in Hall's recruitment since he began hearing from college coaches. So it was no surprise to hear Hall's father – Brad – cite location as one of the primary reasons for his son's commitment on Wednesday.
"It's close to home," the elder Hall said. "That's one thing. He has a chance to play right away. They have good coaches. Being close to home and having a chance to play right away we're big factors."
"It's an hour and 15 minutes from where I live," he added. "That's a big deal."
Marshall assistant coach Mark Kline was the point man on Hall's recruitment.
"Coach Kline I talked a few times," Hall said. "I've always like coach Kline. I like the head coach quite a bit too."
Hall and his father were on Marshall's campus on Wednesday for an unofficial visit.
"We watched practice," he said. "We were pretty sure [we were going to commit]. We wanted to see campus and we wanted to see everything."
