Grantham commits to Clemson

Donte Grantham, a four-star forward out of Hargrave Military Academy, committed to Clemson on Friday.

With the early signing period just over a month away, top 100 recruits in the 2014 class are flying off the board.

That trend continued on Friday, as 6-foot-7 forward Donte Grantham, of Chatham (Va.) Hargrave Military Academy, committed to Brad Brownell and Clemson.

"He's going to go to Clemson," Hargrave coach A.W. Hamilton told

Grantham entertained interest from a number of high major programs, but ultimately chose the Tigers over Michigan. He visited Clemson twice during the process, once officially in the summer and then an unofficial visit last weekend.

"Deciding between two first class head coaches in John Beilein and Brad Brownell was very tough for Donte," Hamilton said. "Donte will be a great addition to the Clemson program. He's a tremendous player, person and student athlete."

Grantham spent the spring and summer playing for DC Assault. At his size, Grantham is capable of playing both forward positions. He's a good athlete with versatility. One of his strengths is his ability to stretch the floor with his jump shot.

Grantham is ranked No. 21 at the small forward position and No. 91 overall in the 2014 recruiting class.
