Onuaku makes his pick

One of the best remaining centers came off the board and he will play in the ACC.

In one of the more anticipated and unknown decisions, four-star center Chinanu Onuaku finally made his decision on Friday afternoon. The Upper Marlboro (Md.) Riverdale Baptist product kept everyone guessing until the end, but eventually he chose Louisville.

As one of the better shot blockers and rebounders in the class, Onuaku saw his stock soar this spring and summer. The 6-foot-10 Onuaku really runs the floor well and can protect the rim in a big way. Also he did a good job of catching and finishing as the summer went on despite not putting up huge offensive numbers.

With his upside and unique skill set, Onuaku had offers from numerous programs, though eventually it came down to Louisville, Miami, and Georgetown for his services. Onuaku visited all three schools officially, and made the call for Louisville after discussing things with his family and coaches.

For Rick Pitino and his staff this is big. The Cardinals pressure defense is at its best when they have someone on the backline who can block shots, and they now have that in Onuaku.

Onuaku is the third commitment for Louisville in the class joining four-star small forward Shaqquan Aaron and four-star power forward Jaylen Johnson.
