Memphis gets No. 27 Lawson

Memphis picked up another local prospect on Monday. K.J. Lawson, of Memphis (Tenn.) Hamilton, gave the Tigers a pledge.

Josh Pastner has always made recruiting the city of Memphis a priority. Since being names the head coach of the Tigers he's reeled in five top 100 recruits from city.

On Monday that total that number moved to six. K.J. Lawson, a 2015 recruit out Memphis (Tenn.) Hamilton, committed to Memphis while on an unofficial visit, a source informed

A versatile forward, Lawson is ranked No. 27 overall in the 2015 class. The long, lanky prospect is an impressive athlete with good mobility. He has very good touch around the basket and is capable shot maker from mid-range.

Lawson is also the brother of 2016 top 10 recruit Dedric Lawson. The brothers play at the same high school. Lawson is Memphis' first commitment of the 2015 class.

The other top 100 recruits from Memphis that Pastner has recruited are Austin Nichols, Nick King, Adonis Thomas, Tarik Black and Joe Jackson.
