Indiana recruiting Battle the hardest

Five-star wing Tyus Battle has 16 scholarship offers, but one Big Ten school is recruiting him the hardest.

Tyus Battle may just be a sophomore in high school, but the 6-foot-6 lengthy wing already has a host of scholarship offers.

Battle claims 16 scholarship offers and cited offers from Indiana, Ohio State, Syracuse, Villanova, Connecticut, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Rhode Island, Xavier, Providence, Vanderbilt and Washington. Michigan and Duke are also recruiting him.

In late August, Battle, of Gladstone (N.J.) Gill St. Bernards, took an unofficial visit to Indiana.

"It was great," Battle said of the trip. "The energy, the atmosphere and the student section was crazy."

At this point, Indiana is showing Battle, Scout.com's No. 1 shooting guard in the 2016 class, the most interest.

"I just think Indiana is recruiting me the hardest so far," Battle said.

"They call my dad a lot," he added. "They keep in contact. When I went out there they acted like family."

Battle is currently rated a five-star prospect and ranked No. 9 overall in the 2016 class.
