At around 6-foot-8 and 200 pounds, Uhl is the new age type of forward he can play both on the wing and more in the mid-post area. With that in mind, Iowa saw him as a great fit for their system and made him a priority recruit starting in July.
According to Uhl's high school coach, Nick Catania, he will be a perfect fit in Fran McCaffery's system.
"Dom will be a great fit at Iowa with their style of play," said Cantania. "He is so versatile and they are committed to Dom's development as a player. I really feel Dom's best basketball is ahead of him."
Uhl will need to get stronger in order to compete in the Big Ten, but the skillset and drive are both there for him to be someone that makes an impact early on in his career. Not many forwards his size can handle the ball his way and also are good athletes.
This is the second commitment for the Hawkeyes in the class. Uhl joins three-star shooter Brady Ellingson who committed to Iowa last month.
