Shayok to Big East

The pick is in for three-star Marial Shayok, and he is headed to the Big East.

The Marquette Golden Eagles got some bad news on Wednesday afternoon when Jameel McKay left the program, but it didn't take long for Buzz Williams to get some good news.

Wednesday evening Canadian native Marial Shayok announced his commitment to the program. The Blairstown (NJ) Blair Academy product recently visited the school, and decided it was right for him.

For the 6-foot-7 Shayok, he is capable of playing either forward spot. He might prefer to be on the wing, but with his size and strength he is definitely able to slide down and play some power forward.

Shayok's game is built on his high basketball IQ, solid fundamentals, and versatile skill set. He brings a little bit of everything to the court without being an elite athlete.

By committing Shayok becomes the fourth commitment for the Golden Eagles. Shayok joins four-star prospects Ahmed Hill, Sandy Cohen, and Malek Harris.
