Kirkland Watches Interest Mount

Here's one of those guys who hasn't received a ton of hype, but is receiving his fair share of attention from college recruiters. Armein Kirkland, a 6-8 small forward, is receiving interest from a number of Texas schools plus a few national programs.

Who's Ready For A Visit?

Armein Kirkland, a 6-8/185 small forward from Tyler (TX) Lee, says that he's beginning to think about visiting some schools but hasn't set up any dates yet. "I've thinking about some schools," Kirkland said. "I haven't set up and visits yet, but I'll probably do that whenever school starts. I'm just seeing what schools are really interested in me."

Right now, Kirkland says Cincinnati, Virginia, Oklahoma, Southern Methodist, Texas Tech, Baylor and Tulsa are showing interest in him. He already has posted a qualifying score on the SAT so he's good to go and can begin making official visits once schools begins at Lee.

Kirkland says that he believes SMU and Texas Tech will be in his living room at some point during the first week of in-home visits.

Kirkland does have a dream school. "I'm real interested in Kentucky. That's where I want to go, but I don't know the interest level. I'm just waiting to see. I've always liked Kentucky."

Kirkland attended ABCD and also played in Las Vegas. "I was just trying to get a little exposure because being from Tyler, not too many schools knew about me. I thought more schools should know about me."

And they do.
