Fazekas picks Providence

Providence dipped into Indiana and nabbed a class of 2015 prospect on Tuesday.

The Providence Friars continue to try and load up on the recruiting trail, and now they are off to a quick start in the 2015 class. The latest pledge coming from Michigan City (Ind.) Marquette Catholic forward Ryan Fazekas.

The 6-foot-7 Fazekas is a faceup forward who can really stretch the defense. His calling card is his ability to make shots from the perimeter, and now he will be doing it in the Big East.

Marquette Catholic Head Coach Donovan Garletts confirmed the news to Scout.com.

The Friars along with schools like Northwestern, Purdue, Xavier, Butler, Michigan, and others all showed varying degrees of interest in Fazekas. However it was Providence who clearly made him a priority recruit.

A three-star prospect, Fazekas will have to get stronger and continue to grow as a complete player, but there is no doubt that he can shoot the basketball.

This is the first commitment for Providence in the class of 2015.
