Blue Demons nab Davis

DePaul loves to run and gun on offense, and new commitment Jon Davis will fit right in.

High scoring guard Jon Davis has been on the recruiting radar for a while. The Upeer Marlboro (Md.) Clinton Christian standout had a solid summer with DC Assault, and now he knows where he will be playing his college basketball.

The 6-foot-2 scorer has decided on the DePaul Blue Demons. Davis also considered Rutgers, Seton Hall, George Mason, and Virginia Tech before settling on DePaul.

Davis issued his commitment via twitter saying, "I'm a Blue Demon."

Davis went in depth saying that the Blue Demons were the lone school who wanted him right away.

"DePaul was the only school that recruited me for 2014, and I feel like that's the best fit for me academically," said Davis. "They will put me in the best position after basketball and also I feel like I'll have the chance to play as soon as I get there."

His AAU coach, Damon Handon, feels that DePaul got a very good player in Davis.

"He's athletic and crafty guard who can really score the ball," said Handon. "I think he can evolve into a viable option at the point guard spot."

Davis is the second commitment for DePaul in the 2014 class.
