Suitors Putting Offers Out To Broom

One of the standouts on the Georgia Stars was a little hobbled this summer. Swingman Derrick Broom is recovering from an ankle injury but has a good list of schools and is interested in a few more.

Seahawks Have Slight Edge

Cartersville (GA) Woodland SF Derrick Broom (6-4/190) is still recuperating from a nagging ankle injury that set him back a little this summer. However, those recruiting Broom fully understand that he's a scorer with a nice medium and deep-range game.

Academically, he's good to go with a qualifying SAT score. He's in the process of setting up some official and in-home visits. So far, Buffalo, Tennessee Tech, Furman, UNC-Wilmington, Towson, Eastern Kentucky and Central Florida have offered scholarships.

"UNC-Wilmington leads out of the ones who have offered," Broom said. "I like the location and the coaches and they have a good academic situation."

Broom said he is also receiving some interest from UConn and Tennessee, but neither has put offers on the table.
