We can't blame you if today's Trey Lyles commitment suspense overshadowed everything else from a recruiting standpoint, but there have been some other newsworthy items to cross the wire.
1. According to multiple reports, Cliff Alexander will visit Kansas this weekend. He traveled to Lawrence officially last month, and now in advance of his decision — which he'll announce on Nov. 15 — he'll obtain even greater exposure to the co-favored (with Illinois) Jayhawks.
Strange twitter murmuring surfaced last weekend that Alexander had cut Kansas and would decide between the Illini and DePaul, but that information appears erroneous due to no corroboration as well as obviously Alexander's upcoming visit.
2. Colleague Evan Daniels reports that Reid Travis visited Minnesota unofficially on Monday night, as the Gophers appear to be charging hard at Duke and Stanford. Travis will announce on Friday between one of the three programs, having recently cut Gonzaga from his list.
Interestingly, while so many top-100 seniors already have committed, Travis actually will be the first of the blue-chip Minnesota natives to make a decision. Both Tyus Jones (expected to decide this fall) and Rashad Vaughn (prepping in Las Vegas and likely will wait until spring) have yet to pick a winner.
